Poole Youth Forum (PYF) is a group of young people who aim to make a positive contribution to young people’s lives within the Borough of Poole.

The group is open to all young people aged 13-19 who live in Poole and it has been involved in a number of projects including; working with the police, an inter-generational project with WW2 veterans and the Beacon Centre with the goal of producing a replica WW2 glider.

PYF member, Georgina Aggett (15) says, “It’s great to be involved in the Forum because we feel that we are making a difference for the young people of Poole. It also gives us the opportunity to participate in events and projects that we would not otherwise experience, like the trip to Normandy with WW2 veterans and training courses in web design.

“Our newly formed collaboration with PHP enables us to have real input into the future of housing for young people in Poole. The Forum is looking into provision of housing for us whilst in education, when we enter the world of work, and throughout our lives.

“It gives us a chance to discuss future implications such as long-term residency and community cohesion. As a result of our new relationship with PHP the Forum has highlighted future housing as a key concern of young people in Poole.”
